𝚜𝚑𝚎’𝚍 𝚊𝚌𝚌𝚎𝚙𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚝𝚑𝚎 𝚌𝚊𝚕𝚕 𝚊𝚜 𝚜𝚘𝚘𝚗 𝚊𝚜 𝚒𝚝 𝚜𝚝𝚊𝚛𝚝𝚎𝚍 𝚛𝚒𝚗𝚐𝚒𝚗𝚐, interrupting her browsing on the history of one of the thousand abandoned castles in ireland, secretly ecstatic for a distraction. daphne, especially, was always good for that.

what she doesn’t expect is for the other redhead to bring her a new mystery. her former case is spread in bits and pieces around her, only two days old, the file incomplete as she went over the details for the hundredth time to be sure she’d been absolutely correct. it’s all forgotten the instant the word ‘murderer’ passes daphne’s lips. her eyes widen as she looks up, hands freezing for a beat before she drops the papers she’s holding. “well, you know i can’t say no to a request like that.” she sits back, head cocked to the side, her wheels turning already with what it could be that daphne had gotten herself involved in. “give me the details.”

𝐈𝐅 𝐓𝐇𝐄𝐑𝐄 𝐖𝐀𝐒 𝐀𝐍𝐘𝐎𝐍𝐄 𝐃𝐀𝐏𝐇𝐍𝐄 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐋𝐃 𝐂𝐎𝐔𝐍𝐓 𝐎𝐍, it was Nancy Drew.

❛ I thought that would catch your interest.” She winks, but is quick to sober up as she shares her screen with Nancy.  ❛ Her victim’s name is Guinevere Beck. She’s dead. The idea’s her therapist killed her after stalking her for months on end. Police also believe he killed her best friend, Peach Salinger: that girl there. The creepy thing, Nance, is that she didn’t know the therapist before her best friend was killed. ❜

She pulls up records gotten through a connection or two at the NYPD of the doctor’s appointment history. ❛ I checked in with the receptionist: same one for the past three years. She’d only started seeing Beck a few months before she was killed. ❜ The hole goes DEEPER and DEEPER, Daphne’s nerves frazzling as she tries to build a plausible timeline. ❛ Then there’s the manuscript Beck wrote before her death. I sent you the file. Read it when you can. It’s.. DARK. ❜ And half the reason Daphne was at the bottom of this mess to begin with.

❛ And then, there’s her boyfriend… Joe Goldberg. A legit AVERAGE JOE. But something about him-

I don’t know, Nancy. My gut instinct is throwing out a capital J - JEEPERS in his direction. ❜
