become a study in soft. learn what makes clouds so intangible, then do the opposite. become something she can lean on when those clouds drain heavy. listen to the stories her bed has to offer. take notes. understand why wood creaks and her roommate’s snores don’t keep her up, but nightmares do. listen to the memories sewn in memory foam. take notes. understand why she keeps handfuls of melatonin in a silk bag where she should sleep, but doesn’t.

become a study in hard. learn what makes paper so swift to fade, then do the opposite. become something he can keep when everything else has been swept away. listen to the stories his songs have to offer. take notes. understand why ink forever lingers on his skin. listen to the beat of the music and the beat of his heart and the beat of yours. take notes. understand why the tears evanesce but the hurt stays still so faithful.

become a study in her. you fit together like puzzle pieces. like a cliche that one day feels new. become a study in him. you are unfinished sentences that collide so gently. you are words that have not hatched their cocoon but are growing, growing wings to fly home with.

you are writing a story.

i cannot wait to read it.
